The thought of HopeDrips first came to mind about midnight, on the 5th of December, 2010. I was busy writing an article to post on a group event on facebook. I realized so much had changed inside of me since I started walking in the Lord. I was convinced of three things.
Firstly, words are powerful. A simple word could make or break a life. A simple sentence like, "You are not meant for sciences" could change the future of a child or redirect the course of a potential auto-machine inventor to that of a sales representative. I know a sentence from my mother changed my life. I remember her telling a friend of hers, "my daughter is very creative". It changed something in me. Prior to this time, I never saw anything positive about myself. It had never crossed my heart that I could be considered creative. It was a profound turning point in my life.
Secondly, to make a difference takes one, but to effect change requires a few others. My story is just one but it's limited on its own. To share hope will require the connection of a few visionary creative people with similar visions, convictions, innovations, hope, enthusiasm and passion. For nothing is as contagious as having people surround us that are full of hope among hopeless individuals. It’s like lightening a candle in succession. Such routes of discovery bring change in communities, countries and indeed across the globe.
Thirdly, bringing hope to others is not exclusive of God. It's the God's kind of hope that does not fail. "Such hope never disappoints or deludes or shames us, for God’s love has been poured out in our hearts through the Holy Spirit, Who has been given to us?... (Romans 5:5, Amplified)" Finding that hope and sharing it with others is our God’s given assignment on earth. When we fulfil this assignment, we find completeness.

The following morning, I woke up to several memories in my head. I remembered most of the people who had contributed into my life during my undergraduate degree. Some of the notes, my friends scribbled and left at my desk or in my hand bag. So, sitting on my bed, I made a simple note on my desktop. “What if hope can be offered like blood drips? What if I could share a little word, leave a simple note, or tuck a small penny in someone’s future? What if I could share words of motivation and inspiration in books, paste it on a souvenir, or share them on social networks. What if I could share my personal experiences and failures, the road I have plied before? What if I could tap vast experiences from others? I kept on and on with the “What if’s”. Several days went by and the well of ideas still kept coming on. Then I thought about the analogy of igniting fire in others. I became personally convinced that this was a cause I was ready to carry. I registered HopeDrips as a non-for-profit organization in January 2011 and the fire has never gone down since then. I am more passionate than ever. I am convinced that an average mind desperately needs an ignition to awake it to the endless possibilities within its environment or else it will knock down into a dead-end reasoning.
According to World Health Organization, blood is the most precious gift that anyone can give to another person — the gift of life". Every word of hope given is like giving blood to a lifeless body and a little candle on a dark path. I envision HopeDrips as a life support and a harbour to raise change agents. Isaiah 58:12 talks about a people that will rebuild the ancient ruins and raise up the age-old foundations. I long to see young and old women burning with passion for the Lord; women who'd become beacons of hope in their generation throughout Nigeria, Africa, West Africa and globally. Through our committed partners, I envision an individual change become a global change. We are here to share hope and support heros who have been sharing hope around the world.
